Grand Ave between Lakeshore and Harrison has several intersections with no lights, faded crosswalks, where cars do not stop or slow down for pedestrians in the middle of the street. Bellevue where two people were hit in December 2013, one killed and one severely injured was supposed to be addressed last year and was not. Interns in the city office drew up plans, meetings were held and Bellevue was supposed to get a mid avenue island plus distinctly marked crosswalk and signs on either side - NOTHING WAS DONE. These people were hit in the early evening - during the day it is dangerous as well since vehicles do not stop for pedestrians crossing and there is a rise in the avenue heading northeast making visibility difficult for vehicle drivers. Please refer this and other trouble spots to the new Oakland DOT director.

The intersection of West Grand and Northgate is also very dangerous.
